In a dealer meeting this week Toyota shared some photos of the new Tundra, a truck we’re been eagerly anticipated for months. After the dealer meeting, one rascally dealer leaked the photos of the new Tundra for the world to see. The biggest thing we could see from the initial photos was the three ambers in the grille, similar to the Ford Raptor. This is important because it indicates the truck will be over the 80 inch wide limit and thus be categorized as a “commercial” vehicle and requires additional lighting. Currently we’ve only seen photos of the TRD Pro model so we’re not sure if the TRD Pro is beefier than the normal models or if every Tundra will be this thicc.
Obviously, Toyota is annoyed by some rando leaking their truck, but when the cat is out of the bag there’s nothing to do but steer into the skid. Within the following 24 hours from the leak Toyota sent out a photo of what the truck will really look like in TRD Pro form in full resolution.
Now we wait for the official debut – we’re hoping in Chicago for the first in-person major auto show since the pandemic. Downshift will be there July 14th during the media day to cover any breaking news and debuts.
