The Hennessey Venom 775 Makes The Raptor And TRX Look Like Herbivores

So here we are at the close of 2021, we’ve got 700 hp baja trucks in the RAM TRX and impending Raptor R, 1000 hp EV trucks in the Hummer EV, and you can’t even take home a Bronco with a hard top.

Its no secret, the pandemic f’ed up global supply chains in a big way and now the automakers AND WE are paying the price.

The Bronco rollout has been muddy to say the least with thousands of orders being cancelled because they can’t get the trucks built.

This is Ford’s biggest vehicle rollout is probably a decade so to think the impending Raptor R will just breeze right off the assembly line is a little naive.

So when you can’t get a suprcharged V8 F150 making 700 hp from Ford themselves, what do you do?

You turn to Texas based tuning legends, Hennessey Performance Engineering.

If you’re not familiar with Hennessey go check them out they’re like the mad scientists of the car world.

But they’re not just any other tuner, they damn near make their own cars.

This has led to some of the raddest, most exclusive, most powerful, and most outrageous cars ever seen coming out of their garage.

And what’s their most recent concoction?

It’s a 775hp supercharged V8 F150.

Sub 1000hp and keeping the same number of axles the vehicle started with means this is one of the more subtle builds Hennessey has done.

Here’s how it goes down:

You call Hennessey up, you tell them you have much gold, over $110,000 worth.

You tell them the Ram fellas have been making fun of your Ecoboost and Hennessey says not to worry, they have the remedy.

Hennessey goes out, gets you a F150 Platinum Super Crew with a 5.0 V8 and 10 speed trans making 400 hp, and that’s where the Frankensteining begins.

From there they slap a 3 liter blower on top – remember the TRX is only a 2.4L.

Then Hennessey needs to make sure your engine doesn’t overheat and blow up.

Cold air induction system, upgraded injector and fuel pump help feed this monstrosity.

And then to help it breathe and sound amazing they add a stainless steel exhaust.

There’s a lot more going on in the computers and here and there, but we won’t go into that right now.

What comes out the other end is a blown 5liter v8, 10 speed gearbox, 4×4 system in a truck that puts out 775 hp and 685 lbft.

RAM – 702hp, 650lbft (but that comes with a warranty).

You also have a truck made from aluminum so it’s SIGNIFICANTLY lighter than the TRX.

0-60 in under 4 seconds.

¼ mile in 12 seconds dead at a trap speed of 117mph.

IN A FULL SIZE PICKUP

From here you can take your build 1 of 2 ways.

First – lifted, leveling kit, bull bar, auxiliary lights, steel rear bumper, 35 inch tires.

The off-road spec which is more true raptor & TRX.

Second – the way I would have mine, is a lowering spring setup, coil-overs, and traction bars. Supposedly in this setup Hennessey throws 22 inch wheels at you but I’ll pass on that for more sidewall.

And boom you have one of the baddest trucks on the road.

BUT WAIT THERES ONE MORE THING!

Not only do you need much gold to get one of these, but you also probably need to be friends with John cuz he’s only making 100 of these things for 2021.

Depending on the rollout of the Raptor Rs he might make more next year, but as of the filming of this video I almost guarantee that all 100 slots have been spoken for already.

Which setup would you have?

Would you wait for the Raptor R?
