2023 Toyota Prius – 7 WORST And 5 BEST Things

The new 2023 Toyota Prius, it’s here to justify getting a hybrid over an EV with more power, efficiency, and style and it’s pretty good, but nothing’s perfect so we’re hitting the highlights; the best and the rest, starting with the rest….

Worst of the Toyota Prius:

1 – a lot more expensive

But you’re geting a lot more car now

But if you’re just looking at the bill then yeah…it’s a lot more

2 – The cringe

There’s hashtags everywhere (15 in total)

I find it more funny than anything

3 – the drive

Yeah it’s got more power

But it’s not like its exciting

The ride is fine, but the buzzy 4 cylinder is annoying

It’s kinda meh

4 – trunk

It’s still a good size, but it’s smaller than last year

And i think the prime will use up more trunk space

At least you can get a power liftgate on the limited

5 – spare tire

The LE is the only trim to get a spare tire

I really only include this because i’ve gotten several spare tire comments lately

6 – the cockpit

Steering wheel and gauge cluster are straight out of the BZ4X – hate

7 – rear seats

Rear seats are much bigger, but for short kings

no air vents

heated rear seats

chargers

single map pocket

Not flat floor which is weird since it’s eAWD

Best of the Toyota Prius:

1 – It’s hot now

Boomerang running lights

flare is very BZ4X

Simple face is elegant

Inch wider

2 inch lower

2 inch longer wheelbase

Bigger wheels will reduce mpg

AWD badge on lower driver door

Still shaped like a computer mouse

Rear door handle is integrated into window trim

digi latch

Black accents

Pano roof std on limited (otherwise $1000)

No more split window rear

Full width tailor

PRIUS script in rear

HEV badge

No exhaust cuts

2 – More efficient

EV mode silliness (50 mpg w/ awd and big wheels)

57 mpg with FWD and small wheels

Prime should give you near 40 miles ev range

3 – More power

2.0 n/a 4 cylinder (bigger)

2 electric motors for and

E-awd

196 hp 152 lbft

.9 kWh

50 mpg (57 in FWD)

eCVT

0-60 in 6.7 sec

Normal hybrid, I haven’t driven the Prime yet

4 – Interior & tech

is much more modern

12.3 info w/ newest tech

wireless

OTA

dual bluettoth

physical volume

360 camera is great

Wireless charger

Digi rear view mirror

nice now that it doesn’t have split window tailgate

5 – Lux stuff

Heated and cooled seats

Heated steering wheel

Ambient light

Lexus LC style shifter

Pano roof

bar across the middle

not great headroom

Conclusion

SO that’s the best and the rest of the new Toyota Prius. I know number wise I came up with a lot of things that I didn’t like, but some of those things are nitpicks and some are things that are still good, just a little smaller than last year like the trunk and rear seats..overall I really like this new Prius..let me know what you think
